Founder Denis Mikhailov, an avid climber, spent years looking for the best food to fuel his body and his adventures. Deep in the Bugaboos, a chance encounter with a mountain guide and his homemade dehydrated food woke Denis up. He realized that it is possible to make trip food that tastes good and feels good. Nomad Nutrition's Hungarian Goulash is the vegan version of an ancient staple and is filled with potatoes, lentils, Hungarian peppers, and a blend of spices to make this meal stand out from the rest. Quite possibly the first dehydrated food for backpackers, in 9th century Hungary, stew meat was cooked, then dried in the sun. The shepherds carried it in bags made from sheep's stomachs and added water when they wanted to eat. Our goulash is just as easy to pack and prepare.
